The School Day

Children should be dropped off at their classroom door for 8.45am, with the side security gate closing at 8.50am. The school registers will be taken at 8.50am. Late children arriving after 8.45am will need to entre the school via the main office doors and will be officially recorded as late on the registers. 

8:50am to 9:00am: Registration and early morning activities
9:00am to 9:30am: Read, Write, Inc and guided reading
9:30am to 10:30am: English
10:30am to 10:45am: Break
10:45am to 11:00am: Assembly
11:00am to 11:15am: Times tables/ Maths fluency
11:15am to 12:15pm: Maths
12:15pm to 1:15pm: Lunchtime
1.15pm to 3.15pm: Registration and Afternoon Lessons
3.20pm: School finishes

School finishes at 3.20pm and parents are asked to collect their child from the school playground. The side security gate will open at 3.15pm for parents to access the playground.

Assemblies

At Bratton Primary School we place great value on the importance of the assembly as a way of celebrating the day-to-day life of the school, as well as reinforcing the unity of the school community. It gives pupils the chance to participate in a variety of ways from reading, music and drama to dance and project work, with the major focus always on the learning and development of the children.

MONDAY – Whole school (led by Head teacher)

TUESDAY – Class Assembly

WEDNESDAY – Singing Assembly

THURSDAY – Class Assemblies/Local Clergy

FRIDAY – Whole School – Celebration Assembly (led by Head teacher)

Parents retain the right to withdraw their children from acts of collective worship.
